What this page tracks
This page records meaningful changes to Word Helper — new tools, substantial content improvements, quality fixes, and policy updates. It does not list every small style tweak or technical rebuild. It exists so readers can see that the site is actively maintained and improving, and so corrections are visible rather than silent.
July 2026
- Five writing clarity tools added: Word Choice Helper, Grammar-Lite Clarity Checker, Tone Checker, Readability Checker, and Repeated Word Finder — all lightweight, rule-based, and running entirely in your browser. Total tools now: 16.
- Creator identity added: Word Helper now clearly identifies its creator and maintainer, Jay Sudha (Shatanjay Sudha), across the About, Editorial Policy, Contact, and Editorial Team pages, with a dedicated Creator page and machine-readable creator information.
- Accessibility Statement published: a new Accessibility Statement describes the site's WCAG 2.2 AA target, what is in place, known limitations, and how to report an accessibility issue.
- Word tools accuracy fix: corrected the in-browser word dictionary so common everyday words are included, and updated tool descriptions to state the real dictionary size honestly.
- Word pages improved: added a plain-language "In simple terms" line to word pages where a reliable definition allows it, without inventing meanings.
- Fifteen new word lists and guides added across writing, exams, word games, and everyday vocabulary.
- Policy accuracy pass: tightened privacy, cookie, terms, disclaimer, and advertising pages for internal consistency and precise, non-overclaiming wording.
June 2026
- Five lexical tools added: Word Finder, Synonym Finder, Antonym Finder, Word Counter, and Random Word Generator. Five writing tools added in July brought the current total to 16.
- Site-wide quality audit completed: fixed factual claims on homepage quiz card, corrected privacy/cookie/affiliate policy language to accurately reflect that advertising and analytics are not currently active, removed outdated dark-mode reference from Cookie Policy.
- Content Security Policy tightened: pre-emptive AdSense/Analytics domains removed from CSP headers. These will be restored only when advertising is actually activated.
- Migration safeguard added: canonical URLs, sitemaps, and schema were centralized so a host change could not leave mixed production origins.
- Editorial Policy updated: added explicit AI disclosure section explaining where AI is used in content production (example-sentence generation and standardization only), and what AI is not used for.
- Single-theme design: dark mode removed; site now uses one premium warm light theme.
- Edge-cache bug fixed: word pages were occasionally serving stale content after a redeploy. Root cause (stale colo-level cache not cleared on direct-upload deploys) identified and fixed by removing shared-cache usage from the Pages Function.
