Privacy Policy

Word Helper is an English word-tools workspace. This Privacy Policy explains how this website handles information in a plain-language way. It reflects the site's current state — not hypothetical future features. This policy will be updated before any advertising or analytics services are activated.

How tool inputs are handled. Most Word Helper tools — Word Unscramble, Anagram Solver, Prefix Finder, Suffix Finder, Word Finder, Rhyme Finder, Syllable Counter, Word Counter, and Random Word Generator — run entirely in your browser. Your input is not sent to any server. Two tools, Synonym Finder and Antonym Finder, send the word you type to the Datamuse API (api.datamuse.com) to retrieve results; Datamuse is an open language-data service and its privacy information is available at datamuse.com. Word Helper does not sell the words or text you type, and does not store them on its own servers — the only transmission of your input is the API lookups described in this policy. Do not enter private, sensitive, regulated, or confidential text into any Word Helper tool.

Word pages and dictionary lookups. When you open a word page (under /word/), use the word-lookup feature, or browse word-list cards, your browser may send that single word to the Free Dictionary API (api.dictionaryapi.dev) to retrieve definitions, pronunciations, and example sentences. Word Helper attaches no personal information to the request; as with any web request, your IP address and browser details are technically visible to the API operator, and to our hosting provider (Cloudflare), which processes requests to serve this site. The Free Dictionary API is a separate third party from Datamuse.

Word Helper uses local browser storage (localStorage) to remember your recently used tools, recent tool inputs, any saved favourites, and a small cache of dictionary results so repeat word lookups are instant. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to any Word Helper server. You can clear all of it at any time through your browser's storage settings.

Advertising. Word Helper does not currently serve advertising and no AdSense publisher ID or advertising cookie is active. If Google AdSense is activated, Google and participating third-party advertising vendors may use cookies, local storage, IP address, browser and device information, page URL, and similar signals to deliver, measure, limit, and protect personalised or non-personalised advertising. Advertising choices and opt-out links will be provided through the live consent interface and Google’s advertising settings. This policy and the Site Updates page will be updated on the activation date.

Consent for advertising. Before advertising cookies are activated for visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Word Helper will deploy a Google-certified consent management platform configured for the then-current Google consent requirements and IAB Transparency and Consent Framework version. The consent interface must actually control advertising storage and requests; no generic banner is treated as consent. Visitors will be able to change or withdraw their choice through a persistent privacy control.

Advertising data retention and partners. Google and other authorised vendors set their own retention periods and act under their own privacy terms when advertising is active. Word Helper will link to the current vendor list, Google privacy information, and user advertising controls from this policy and the consent interface before activation. Word Helper will not send the text entered into its writing tools to AdSense as advertising data.

Analytics. Word Helper does not currently use web analytics services or tracking cookies. If analytics are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before any analytics code is activated.

Children's privacy. Word Helper is a general-audience reference and learning site. It does not require an account, does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and builds no profile of any visitor. The only way to send us personal information is by emailing us directly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent us personal information through the contact email, write to hello@wordhelper.online and we will delete it.

If you contact Word Helper at hello@wordhelper.online, your email address and message are used only to respond to your request and, where relevant, to improve the website. We do not sell, share, or publish contact information. Contact data is retained only as long as needed to address your inquiry.

Your choices and regional rights. If you are in the EEA, the UK, or California, you have rights over your personal data, including access, correction, deletion, and the right to object to processing. Because Word Helper requires no account, serves no ads, and runs tool processing in your browser, it does not build a personal profile of you. You can clear browser localStorage at any time through your browser settings.
